FISE World Montpellier 2016

Debrief Day 2

06 May 2016 11:09

What a day ! With an incredible atmosphere and under a blazing sun, the competitions of the day have offered an extraordinary show to the 160 000 persons who came this thursday on the riversides of the Lez !

THE GENIUS OF GENON AT SLOPESTYLE MTB

The day started with the Mountain Bike (MTB) semi-finals with the best riders of the discipline, the fantastic belgian Thomas Genon to begin with, who throws a spinning 2nd run to qualify in first for tomorrow's finals. With Szymon Godziek, Tomas Lemoine, Nicholi Rogatkin or even BMX legend Ryan Nyquist in ambush, ready for confrontation, today's finals promise a memorable show.

HISTORIC SKATEBOARDING FINALS

Soon after, craziness submerged the skatepark where the pro riders produced one of the most insane finals we ever got the chance to witness at the FISE World Montpellier. With a trio of French on top of their art and a crowd motivated by a duo of announcers, also on top in the « punchline » art, the show was spectacular.

Vincent Milou wins the competition followed by Aurélien Giraud, and takes his revenge on the last Simple Session. Both showed consistency without a hitch, nailing trick after trick but the one who certainly left a mark that day was without a doubt Adrien Bulard. Well-known on the skate scene since years, he seemed possessed by the excitement of the moment, landing improbable tricks one by one, even off the clock, simply for the passion and for the crowd going totally wild then. Certainly an unforgettable moment and now we can expect the second part of the FISE to be just equally exciting.

With the MTB and Roller Slopestyle finals and the BMX stars making their entry on the famous spine mini-ramp, this friday should be confirming this sweet euphoria that took over this  20th edition of the FISE Montpellier. Don't miss the next live broadcasts, that FISE should be historic !
