Everything about Slopestyle Mountain Bike

09 Apr 2017 22:38
Since its birth in the mountains, Slopestyle Mountain Bike came a long way. The democratization of the discipline gave it the chance to be set up on the Lez riversides nearly ten years ago.

In 2008, we invited for the first time the Slopestyle Mountain Bike riders. It was our way to make fit in altitude sports within a city festival. Then the bet on the public was launched.

Do you know what is Slopestyle Mountain Bike ?

On a mountain bike (MTB), the athletes realize BMX-like tricks on dirt jumps, wooden structures and street furniture. The tricks' difficulty and good realization are expected but also the rider's style and how clean his riding is.

Since a few years, this sport has been growing all around the globe which resulted in the birth of a real international scene with high level professionals. We can expect foreign athletes like Brett Rheeder or Sam Pilgrim. But we are also blessed with a highly motivated french scene. Names like Yannick Granieri, Louis Reboul or Thomas Lemoine must sound at least a bit familiar to you. Have they added the FISE to their world tour or realized their first competition here, we remain a key event in their year schedule. A competitive rendezvous but before anything an enthusiasts gathering. Since 2010, the FISE is a major stopover on the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour, which is the slopestyle and freeride mountain bike events world tour.

MTB will again be on the festival in 2017, see you in Montpellier from the 24th to the 28th of May to celebrate 20 years of FISE !
