Day 2 Programme

26 Aug 2017 01:27
The first day of the 2017 FISE Xperience Series in le Havre took place under a blazing sun with super-motivated riders for the last stop of this French tour. Eleventh edition of the "Week-end de la Glisse", the city of Le Havre aimed for another level this year with a Freestyle BMX and Roller park built just next to the mythical bowl for even more possibilities during the Skateboarding and Freestyle scooter competitions.
Watch every represented sport from tomorrow with the first qualifications of each category on the bowl and the park.
Highlights and riders
Roller Freestyle Park
A European trio is expected with Romain Godenaire (who just won the FISE World Budapest last weekend), Joe Atkinson - coming straight from Great Brittain - and Jelle Briggeman from The Netherlands. The pro qualifications take place at 8pm, after the juniors and amateurs who will enter the park at 1:10pm and 4:10pm.
BMX Freestyle Park
The park will also get hot with 2 wheels riders like Anthony Jeanjean (FR) and Cam Peake (UK), the two current leaders of the tour.
They will be joined by Istvan Caillet and JB Peytavit (members of the BMX Freestyle Park French Team with Anthony), but also Cyril Lapoirie, Jeremy Gonzales, Maxime Orsini and the Belgian Kenneth Tancre (5th in the overall ranking). We will see the pros from 5:40pm with their qualifications, while the juniors will meet at 10:45am, women at 12:10am and amateurs at 14:15pm.
Note that this event is the first stopover of the BMX Freestyle Park French Cup, organised by the cycling french federation (Fédération Française de Cyclisme). More info here.
Skateboarding
Just like BMX Freestyle Park, Skateboarding is one of the new disciplines we will see at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Riders will get to ride in the city's mythical bowl. The pros are neck and neck, especially Rouen's Adrien Bulard (1st place) and Paul Gallelli from Houppeville (2nd place) ; their qualifications start at 7:00pm. Alexandre Crevel and Sebastian Mourron (3rd place) will also compete. Unfortunately, the local Joseph Garbaccio (4th place) is injured but will still be with us to cheer for his friends. The Junior qualifications will take place from 11:40am and 1:30pm for the amateurs.
