Debrief Day 3

07 May 2016 11:46

BMX and MTB get the place of honour !

After an incredible thursday who had skateboarding winning over 160 000 persons on the riversides of the Lez, it's the bikes' turn, of all (free)style, to amaze a, crowd with messy hair due to the strong wind.

THE BMX PARK STARS ARE ALREADY IN SHAPE BEFORE SUNDAY'S FINALS

Started yesterday, the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup ended this afternoon, already in a fantastic atmosphere. They were more than a hundred, 19 stood out of the pack and will move on and join this saturday the first 5 of the FISE World Series 2015 automatically qualified in the semi-finals. This friday was unforgiving, the rest will be just as incredible.

LOGAN MARTIN WINS SFR SPORT BMX SPINE PRO

Spine ramp is a particular exercise and the 12 best set the city hall square on fire one more time on friday night, just like it is during the big concerts that are taking place here regularly. Logan Martin wins the contest and Kostya Andreev the best trick.

THE BMX FLAT STARS ENTER THE ARENA

The playground is flat and seems so calm early in the morning, but when the BMX Flatland specialists take over the spot, it's all the grass banks that arouse for a celebration of balance and aesthetics. The 12 qualified of the day will discuss their sane rivalry tomorrow with the finals where the french BMX superstar, Matthias Dandois, will be the favourite again.

THOMAS GENON WINS MTB SLOPESTYLE

As the colored tramways of the cities continue to transport thousands of spectactors right behind them, the Mountain Bike Slopestyle riders dive into the Zuccarelli bridge's huge drop before flying over the no less gigantic Big Air. MTB was born in the mountains, so once in the city, it's no problem to go big. At this little game of jumps and bridges, the FMB world champion Thomas Genon aka la Frite (Yes he's belgian) wins this Gold stop of the FMB World Series. He wins before BMX legend Ryan Nyquist who came to test his sensations and his steadfast talent on bigger wheels.

It was by all aspects a perfect day at the FISE, a day where everything rolled faster, higher and also more freestyle. And we still have two days to go ! Very promising.
