SKATEBOARD STREET PRO MEN SEMI FINAL

27 May 2022 16:31

It was a stacked line up for the Men’s Skateboard Street Pro Semi-Finals, and the Montpellier crowds had come out in droves to support the healthy contingent of French Talent.

There were 12 skaters hoping to get one of the 8 places in tomorrow’s final and they each had 2 runs of 50 seconds to show the judges why they deserved to be there.

The crowd favorite seemed to be FISE regular Aurelien Giraud from Lyon. He is a skater who needs no introduction and we have seen his star and talent rise since he joined the FISE as a youngster. He is now one of the most well-known skaters in the world today. His performance was good enough for 6th place meaning we will see him back on the Street Course tomorrow.

The judges ranked Peruvian Skater Angelo Caro first and the difficulty of the tricks he landed showed why. Some stand out moments in his run included a kickflip backside 50-50 and a front blunt, big spin front board.

In second was FISE Montpellier 2019 winner Ke’chaud Johnson, who impressed everyone with his powerful skating and ability to grind up rails. Another familiar FISE face in 3rd spot, Riso Tury. Both of his runs were absolutely jam packed with tricks which were executed flawlessly as always, looking forward to seeing what he has up his sleeve for the finals.
