Climbing is another one of the disciplines on display this weekend that has been added to the line-up for Tokyo 2020. For those who don't know there are 3 types of climbing: Speed, Bouldering and Lead and the Olympic competition will test athlete’s skills in them all. In the Women’s IFSC Bouldering International Series Final French athlete Clementine Kaiser managed to improve on her second place yesterday and clinch the victory just ahead of 14-year-old Japanese star Natsuki Tani in second.
The classic competition style of the Bouldering wall allows these top athletes to show the judges the range of their skills all at once. Athletes have 4 minutes to attempt the Boulder using as many tries as they need. In the Men’s IFSC Bouldering International Series Final the top 3 climbers originally tied but Meichi Narasaki eventually came out on top stunning the crowd and judges with his skill and technical ability. The phenomenal young Japanese climber has won multiple Junior Championships and I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of him in the future.
