Hannah Roberts brings the heat in Chengdu!
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon here in Chengdu and conditions were perfect for the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup Women’s Semi Final. 24 women from around the globe were competing for one of 12 spots in tomorrow’s final.
Once again no one could better Hannah Roberts from the USA. Her riding was impeccable in her first run as she landed everything cleanly a including barspin to truck driver, tuck no hander and a stylish hand plant. The judges were clearly impressed and scored her a big 94.80 pts. She called time early on her second run, perhaps to conserve her energy for tomorrow’s final.
In second spot today was another rider representing team USA and another familiar name, Perris Benegas. Perris has bags of style when she rides and her amplitude is insane. She chose some unique lines in her first run and packed in some tricks such as a tire grab to toboggan and a big wall ride. She also called time on her second run early as she was sure to qualify for the final.
In 3rd place going into tomorrow's final is Charlotte Worthington riding for team GB. Charlotte is a rider that seems to improve at every stop and you’re never sure what new tricks she is going to bring. Today it was trick after trick from her and she landed a lovely 360 over the spine. In the end she got 85.80 points and can feel confident for tomorrow.
Join us for the Final tomorrow at 11.20am local time!
