SNIPES Skateboard Street - Semi final- Men

30 May 2019 18:41

CONCRETE LOVERS!

Today is a public holiday in France and the crowds turned up in their masses to enjoy a sunny semi final of skateboarding on the new Hurricane skatepark made of smooth concrete.

24 riders were invited to compete to go to the next level. For sure it didn’t look like a video game as the slams were real and the pressure was heavy on the riders aiming to climb the overall rankings of the FISE World Series
Just back from his recent collarbone fracture, American Gabriel Zander was not in full shape today and did not make the finals.

Flying Danny Leon stopped also here despite his crazy frontside air. The surprise qualification was 14 years old French Rider Antoine Laurent who was a crowd favourite and performed again at his best today. He fell short this time as the level was getting higher but something tells us that this kid might be the future of french skateboarding. Talking about the present, is actually talking all sort of languages and the final is set to be an International fiesta!

The finalist will be coming from 11 different nationalities ! Europe is of course well represented with our  2018 FWS champion Richard Tury ready to step up his runs and compete for the gold...and for Slovakia. « French cannelé » Benjamin Garcia overcame the pressure and qualified on his second run. Like all the athletes he will have nothing to lose
tomorrow. For this 23rd edition of FISE, Latin America is sending many new faces to a highly anticipated final and we will give a special attention to Angelo Giovanni Caro from Peru who showed he can beat anyone, anywhere. He qualified first ahead of an always impressive
Ke’Chaud Johnson who will surely keep pushing the limits on the gap to rail. Expect also Japanese sensation Ryo Sagawa to aim for the repeat after his win in last month FISE Hiroshima.

SNIPES skateboard street pro final are live this Friday at 5.15m local time, on all FISE channels (facebook, youtube...)
