Aurélien Giraud takes the Win! !
Today the banks of the Lez are on fire with a huge crowd and a stellar line up of skaters prepared to give it their all in this final.
The 8 best skaters from yesterday's semis face a new competition format completely different from the one in the semi-finals yesterday.
2 runs of 50s (the best run selected), 5 best tricks (the 2 best out of 5 attempts) scores out of 10 with a final score out of 30
The competition is full of twists and turns but it's Aurélien Giraud, the star of Montpellier who has never won at FISE Montpellier before who takes top spot on the podium with technical and fluid tricks to earn 19.58 points, so happy, at the end of his performance he threw his board into the crowd as a thank you for their support. A beautiful moment.
A second Frenchman on the podium, Ben Garcia, prepared a bag of tricks. He unfortunately fell during his runs but managed to recover points thanks to the best tricks section to earn second place on the podium with 18.92 points. In 3rd position, Ivan Monteiro, a regular at contests and winner at FISE Chengdu in 2019, scored 18.45 points with top tricks and his fluid and consistent skating.
