With incredible weather lasting throughout the weekend, the first edition of FISE XPERIENCE Monteux by Wave Island was a huge success. The next stop is next weekend in Reims. The fourth leg of the tour will include BMX and Roller Freestyle Park, Skateboard Bowl and BMX Flat competitions.
After the amateur finals, where Simon Clergue stood out, the BMX Dirt Pro was yesterday’s highlight. The competition stunned to many spectators, amazed by the intensity and the amplitude of the runs, with Mont Ventoux in the background. Jack Mould landed first place with an almost-perfect run, followed by the Bringer brothers who also looked remarkbale in their runs . The Englishman’s perfect day was doubled by also winning the Best Trick with a 1080. Alongside official competitions, pro riders gathered for the BMX Bunny Up Contest, where Thibaut Panaville won by jumping over a 1.03 metres high bar.
Amateurs came together by the Monteux Lake during the final in the beginning of the afternoon. Course were specially set up for the occasion, allowing them to perform multi-tasks runs, where athletes of all levels could express themselves. Best friends Loic Deschaux and Camille Charraud, who both just turned 13, out-performed older competitors and saved their best riding for the fans.
