June 21, it's summertime day, it's also music's day in France, the start of vacations, the end of exams but also skateboarding's day !
The story : Go Skateboarding Day, on the 21st of June every year, is the official day to celebrate skateboarding. The concept came to life on June 21, 2004. Go Skateboarding Day started with a few simple skateboarding sessions and BBQ in Southern California.
Created by the International Association of Skateboard Companies, Go Skateboarding Day offers the opportunity de ride freely all over the world, and this special day is dedicated to all the enthusiasts as well as those who are simply inspired by skateboarding. Go Skateboarding Day is a cooperative of independent events happening all over the world. Skate shops, makers, skateparks, distributors and events organisers all get together to celebrate summer break. Riders all over the planet create their own events to celebrate skateboarding.
Go Skateboarding Day has become skateboarders' day and it's all about having fun, and bringing up the issues they are confronted to ; to show the world what skateboarding really is ; to share their culture and passion. Since 13 years, the phenomenon keeps growing while the mission and leitmotiv remain the same : "Have fun and skate !"
