BMX Freestyle Park – Who’s in the Top 3?
We’ve just about recovered after the incredible scenes of FISE World Montpellier.
The superstars of BMX battled it out for places in the UCI BMX Freestyle Park world rankings before we head into the next FISE World Series event in Budapest. Logan Martin is sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard once again, having secured first place in Montpellier with two stunning runs on our brand new Park. The young Australian is looking unbeatable on two wheels right now, relentlessly making full use of whichever Park he’s on and flawlessly executing his tricks time and time again. Can anyone beat this kid?
Check out his winning run here.
But by no means is it an easy ride to the finish for Logan. Hot on his wheels is the Russian barspin king – Kostya Andreev. After winning Best Trick on the Spine last year with this INSANE double tailwhip to footjam whip to barspin, and this year’s Best Trick on the Park with a never-been-seen-before barspin cannonball to seatgrab tailwhip, there’s no denying this man has dreamlike talent. It seems this young rider is coming into form at just the right time. Can he keep it consistent and hang with the Top 3 for the rest of the Series?
Right behind these two is the veteran from Caracas, Daniel Dhers. It seems the Venezuelan is never out of the Top 3, but for the second year running he finds himself trailing his main rival Logan Martin in the rankings. At 33 years old, Dhers is the only guy in the current FISE World Series top 10 over 25 – a remarkable achievement in itself. Only a fool would write this rider off, and you can be sure Daniel Dhers will arrive in Budapest laser-focused and armed with an arsenal of new tricks that could take him past Kostya and Logan for the title.
As the days roll by, we’re getting more and more excited for FISE World Budapest. The leaderboard is tight, and the riders are ready. The BMX Park is gonna produce fireworks. Make sure you tune in.
