Scooter riders and a wild night on the Spine Ramp
There's something really special about this Montpellier crowd, and if the atmosphere is great during the day, it really kicks up a notch in the evening! With a great night-time atmosphere, the party really got underway yesterday with the Scooter Spine Ramp Pro finals.
A special shout-out to the French riders, who turned out in numbers for this final. Star rider Estéban Clot, who qualified in third place, and especially the two brothers from Montpellier, Fantin and Timon Pharabod, really gave it their all and laced some quality runs in their bid for the podium. It's not enough for this time, but the audience definitely enjoyed the show!
Third place went to Corby local Calum Connor, who had a wild second run, punctuated by a cashroll on the spine. On the second step of the podium, another Englishman: Jordan Clark landed a fastplant frontflip on the spine, his signature trick, as well as a double flair which earned him a score of 89.66 points.
But at the very top of the leaderboard, it was Denmark's Hjalte Hansen who secured victory with a run packed with power and speed, and an amplitude that enabled him to fly over the competition. Opening his run with a drop backflip, landing a double flair and a hyper-technical triple whip flair, he was able to celebrate his victory with the crowd, more than two points ahead of the competition!
If you'd like to experience this crazy atmosphere on the Spine once again, nothing could be simpler: join us this evening for the BMX Spine Men finals, for a show that's already shaping up to be a must-see!
