A superb podium for the Scooter Park Women's finals
A few clouds in the early afternoon, and a welcome breeze in the white-hot atmosphere of this FISE Montpellier: it was the turn of the Pro Women scooter riders to set the Freestyle Park on fire for the final of this competition!
After one last meeting between our ten qualified riders and the judges, everyone clears the park. Two 45-second runs for each, with the best of the two determining the final score. With our buddy JD at the microphone and the public filling the banks of the Lez, the level rises steadily, and so does the atmosphere!
When the judges finally gave their verdict, American Claire Parks took third place. Her unbelievable finger whip to rewind to trickless had our MC screaming, and she was on fire all the way! It was a very close call between the top two today, and really a matter of detail since it was above all the clean execution of the tricks and the fluidity of their runs that made the difference. Great Britain's Lucy Evans (2nd), the oldest rider in this final at just 28 years of age, delivered a high-flying performance, with a huge frontflip whip on the table and plenty of amplitude. But the big winner this Sunday was her fellow countrywoman Neve Entwistle, who performed a super-clean second run, connecting each transfer perfectly and landing a crazy triple whip to cap it all off!
A very high level, and a women's scene that is a real highlight for scooter riders at FISE, a real pleasure for the Montpellier crowd! What better way to get ready for the Men's finals on this same park, in just a few moments: we look forward to seeing you there!
