Diako Diaby international come back on the podium!

While the sun shone bright yesterday on the Freestyle Park for the qualifications, we weren’t so lucky today. As rain fell in Shanghai, we were forced to postpone and then eventually cancel the Men finals of the World Skate Roller Freestyle competition. Too bad, given the high level of riding we witnessed yesterday, and how excited we were to watch the top 3 names on the podium push their skating even further today!

In third place, the Japanese legend of vert Takeshi Yasutoko proved once again he is one of the most versatile skaters the sport has ever seen. Flying high over every transfer and throwing some of his signature flips as well, with his speed and flawless style he showed no apparent difficulty adapting to the technical course built by Hurricane Parks.

And speaking of technical, young Brasilian up-and-comer Danilo Senna displayed a wide range of tech tricks and huge spins in a powerful run that landed him in second place, punctuating an incredible year after his third place at Winterclash and his silver medal in Montpellier. Constantly progressing, he’ll definitely be one of the main contenders next year again!

It’s been a while since crowd-pleaser Diako Diaby was able to join the FISE party, as he was busy doing shows for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Thankfully, he’s now back on the scene, delivering another high-energy performance with a big smile on his face as always! With unmatched amplitude and his usual mix of big transfers and crazy flips, he earned the highest score on the course yesterday, and celebrates his return to FISE with another gold medal!

Not the ending we hoped for, but some great performances and insane tricks nonetheless, another reminder of how lucky we are to witness these incredible talents display their skills on the beautiful stage set at FISE… At least when the weather is on our side! Stay tuned to get all the updates on our upcoming competitions, and let’s hope for some sunnier times again!
